Fair Housing
FAIR HOUSING ACT
The Federal Fair Housing Act refers to laws and regulations that make it illegal to discriminate based on a protected class as it relates to the sale, lease, or rental of a dwelling. Federal and state laws protect you against housing discrimination and intimidation within the home.
These laws apply to any of the following situations or activities:
Retaliation or harassment of a person enforcing fair housing rights is also prohibited.
PROTECTED CLASSES
It is illegal to discriminate in housing and mortgage lending based on the following:

- Building Accessible Housing

It is illegal to discriminate in housing and mortgage lending based on the following:
- Race
- Color
- National Origin
- Sex (including sexual orientation and gender identity)
- Religion
- Physical or mental disability
- Familial Status (the presence of a child or children under the age of 18 OR a pregnant female)
